To the people who are freaking out about horse slaughter, I ask you this: What other solution do you suggest to help minimize the large population of unwanted horses that we have in the US? Do you prefer that their owners set them free or leave them to starve to death because they can no longer afford them? Or send them to Mexico or Canada to be slaughtered in a much less humane way? The reality is, there simply isn’t enough time, money, and space to save them all even though we all wish that we could. If you really care about horses, take the time to educate yourselves, and the upcoming generation of horse people so that we can figure out how to prevent this problem from happening in the future, and maybe one day, horse slaughter won’t be necessary anymore.
